Practical Advice

  1. Learn to accept each other

Romans 14:1-2

1. Don't label them (Romans 14:1a)

2. Don't make fun of them (Romans 14:3a)

3. Don't try to be their conscience (Romans 14:3b)

Why Should I Accept Those I Disagree With?

1. God has already accepted them (Romans 15:7)

2. Accept them because it's not your responsibility (Romans 14:4a)

3. We are only accountable to God (Romans 14:10)


  1. Learn to accommodate each other

Romans 14:13-14

If We Don't Show Grace in Non-Essentials

1. We can cause them to fall into their old lifestyle

2. We can cause them emotional pain (Romans 14:15a)

3. We can cause them to lose their faith (Romans 14:15b)

How to be Accommodating

1. Don't focus on the externals. Focus on the eternal (Romans 14:17)

2. Help each other grow (Romans 14:19)

3. Limit your liberty out of your love for others (Romans 14:20-21)

Maturity is when you can limit your own freedom for the benefit of other people.


  1. Assert your freedom in privacy
