Sermon Notes | December 14, 2025 | Main Campus
"Peace / leave with you; my peace / give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
John 14:27 (NIV)
"Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth..."
Luke 2:14a (NLT)
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given...And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
The Prince of Peace gives us...
Peace WITH God
Peace OF God
"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
John 13:16-17 (N/V)
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9 (N/V)
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:1 (NIV)
"You [God] will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!"
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
Shalom, Shalom: a PERFECT and UNBROKEN peace. It means complete wellbeing, both INWARD and OUTWARD.
Peace isn't found in the ABSENCE of PROBLEMS, but peace is found in the PRESENCE of GOD.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him [God] and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
The peace of God is found in SURRENDER, not CONTROL.
Almost every time you're worried or afraid, you're OVERESTIMATING your ability to control and you're UNDERESTIMATING the goodness of God.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
