The Parent's Priority

A parent's priority is to gradually transfer a child's Dependence away from the

Parents until their dependence rests solely on God. (Deuteronomy 6:1-2a)

1. Love Our God (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)

Kids who become active Christ-followers as adults

• if mom and dad went to church 72% of kids will as adults

• if mom only went to church 15% of kids will as adults

• if dad only went to church 55% of kids will as adults

• if neither mom nor dad went 06% of kids will as adults

2. Lead our Families (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)

Lead Intentionally (Proverbs 22:6)

Training From Proverbs

• Train our children to manage Gods Money (Proverbs 3:9-10)

• Train our children to carefully select their Friends (Proverbs 13:20;1 Corinthians 15:33)

• Train our children to watch their Words (Proverbs 4:24; Ephesians 4:29)

• Train our children to be Responsible (Proverbs 6:6-8; Luke 12:48)

• Train our children to guard their Minds (Proverbs 23:7; Matthew 6:22)

• Train our children to be Generous (Proverbs 11:25; Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7)

• Train our children to Fear (Respect) God (Proverbs 1:7; Deuteronomy 6:5)
